This document supplements the User's Manual.
Microsoft officially starts supporting USB2.0 driver for Windows XP/2000.
In order for Windows XP users to use the Microsoft USB2.0 driver, install
Service Pack1 on Windows XP.
In order for Windows 2000 users to use the Microsoft USB2.0 driver, download
the Microsoft USB2.0 driver with "Windows Update".
For Windows Me/98SE users, Microsoft has not yet announced USB2.0 driver.
Our originally developed USB2.0 driver supports Windows XP/2000/Me/98SE.
If you have difficulty obtaining the Service Pack1 for Windows XP,
you may use our original USB2.0 driver.
If you don't have the Internet available on your Windows 2000 PC,
you may use our original USB2.0 driver.
Please read this Readme file carefully before using the products and
understand the restrictions. The updated driver will be available through our web site
whenever some issues are fixed.
Our original USB2.0 driver has the following restriction:

This version supports Split data transfer.
With this Split data transfer, HS devices performance
maintain even if HS and FS devices are connected to
a USB2.0 HUB simultaneously.
(3)Support USB2.0 HUB cascade connection.
(4)CBU2 PNP Utility is updated to version 1.0.
With this version, the utility will unload when the CBU2 is removed.
(5)Fixed the issue that SONY VAIO PCG-GT3/K(Windows 2000) freezes up
if the CBU2 has removed from the system with a USB device connected
to the CBU2.
The following was updated from Rev 1.2 to Rev 1.3.
(1)The following issue is fixed.
When you suspend SONY VAIO PCG-QR1S, the screen image disappears.
But, the suspend fails and you can't resume the system anymore.
(2)CBU2 PNP Utility is updated to version 0.22.
With this version, the new revision of USB controller can be treated.
The following was updated from Rev 1.1/1.0 to Rev 1.2.
With this version 1.2, you can remove the CBU2 from your computer.
-If you use Windows 98SE/Me, you can remove the CBU2 from your computer
by clicking the CBU2 icon on the tasktray.
-If you use Windows 2000, you can remove the CBU2 from your computer
by clicking the removable icon on the tasktray.

[4] How to update the old driver of the PCIU3U/PCIU2U
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have already installed the old driver and try to update the old driver,
follow the instructions to update the driver:
4-1.Windows 98SE
(1)Insert the floppy disk containing the updated drivers.
Right-click on My Computer, select Properties, and then select
the Device Manager tab.
(2)Double-click on the [Universal Serial Bus Controllers].
(3)Show the properties on [RATOC PCI USB Enhanced Host Controller].
(4)Click the [Driver] tab and click the [Update Driver] button.
[Update Device Driver Wizard] will appear. Click [Next].
(5)Select the [Display a list of all the drivers in a specific
location, so you can select the driver you want] option and click [Next].
(6)Click [Have Disk].
(7)Type in [A:] at the [Copy manufacturer's files from] and click [OK].
(8)Select [RATOC PCI USB Enhanced Host Controller] and click [Next].
(9)Click [Next].
(10)The updated driver will be copied. Click [Finish].
(11)Restart your computer after you finished installing the driver.
4-2.Windows Me
(1)Insert the floppy disk containing the updated drivers.
Right-click on My Computer, select Properties, and then select
the Device Manager tab.
(2)Double-click on the [Universal Serial Bus Controllers].
(3)Show the properties on [RATOC PCI USB Enhanced Host Controller].
(4)Click the [Driver] tab and click the [Update Driver] button.
[Update Device Driver Wizard] will appear. Click [Next].
(5)Select the [Specify the location of the driver(Advanced)] option.
Then, click [Next].
(6)Select the [Display a list of all the drivers in a specific
location, so you can select the driver you want] option and click [Next].
(7)Click [Have Disk].
(8)Type in [A:] at the [Copy manufacturer's files from] and click [OK].
(9)Select [RATOC PCI USB Enhanced Host Controller] and click [Next].
(10)Click [Next].
(11)The updated driver will be copied. Click [Finish].
(12)Restart your computer after you finished installing the driver.
4-3.Windows XP/2000
If you have the Internet connection on Windows 2000, you can update the old
driver to Microsoft Driver at Start Menu Windows Update.
In order for Windows XP users to update the old driver to Microsoft Driver,
install Service Pack1 on Windows XP.
If you don't have the Internet connection on Windows 2000 or you have difficulty
obtaining Service Pack1 for Windows XP, you can update the old driver to our
latest RATOC Driver by following the steps:
(1)Insert the floppy disk containing the updated drivers.
Right-click on My Computer, select Properties, and then select
the hardware tab. Then, click the Device Manager button.
Double-click on the [Universal Serial Bus Controllers].
(2)Show the properties on [RATOC PCI USB Enhanced Host Controller].
(3)Click the [Driver] tab and click the [Update Driver] button.
[Update Device Driver Wizard] will appear. Click [Next].
(4)Select the [Display a list of the known drivers for this device
so that I can choose a specific driver] option.
Click [Next].
(5)Click [Have Disk].
(6)Type in [A:] at the [Copy manufacturer's files from] and click [OK].
(7)Select [RATOC PCI USB Enhanced Host Controller] and click [Next].
(8)Click [Next].
(9)The updated driver will be copied. Click [Finish].
(10)Restart your computer after you finished installing the driver.

At this time, we don't know any of information.
-Windows Me
When waking up from sleep state, the system may freeze up.
The driver doesn't support suspend/resume/hybernation.
-Windows 98SE
At this time, we don't know any of information.
